The Phillips Family: Spring Break Mission Trip L.A.--Part 1

It was such a treat to have my family with us for this mission trip!
It was like my favorite things all wrapped up in one...
family, college students, spring break, worship mornings/teachings,
the beach, lives getting transformed.

So thankful they came and for every minute we got to spend with them!

The first day we were there we were on UCLA's campus.
It was kind of crazy for us because we were getting the fliers to the students,
Trav was making sure everyone was all set up to do outreach there, etc...
plus we had our kids with us.

But we were able to do some prayer walking...

And have lunch at the student union...

(who can blame them??)

We didn't have much time before we had to get back in the car and go to the next
thing so Trav had us sit as a family and wait on the Lord
for a word or a picture of someone that He would have us share with.

Gracie had a picture of a dancer...and just as she shared that I hear Trav stop a girl
who is walking right in front of where we are sitting...
she was clearly dressed like a dancer but if that wasn't enough,
her shirt said, "Dance".

We were so encouraged! And so were the kids of course...we were able to share
with her about the love of Jesus and pray with her.
She didn't receive Jesus right there but she was touched and visibly softened by
the end of the conversation. Believing it was the beginning
of something more for her.

We also had fun, crazy, powerful times of worship throughout the week!

And my sister was so sweet to help out with the kids during our
morning teaching/worship times! The beach was just a few blocks from our
house so she would a lot of times take them down there.
(all but her oldest Caroline who was practically one of the college students that week...
she's only 13 but has the spiritual maturity and hunger of a college student!)

The next day we took a family day and went to Knott's Berry Farm...

in our matching mission trip shirts! :)

There were TONS of rides for my little kids to do so that
made it really fun for them...I think this was really their
first experience with a real amusement park.
A few tears on roller coasters but for the most part...
it was a success!
Anything with their cousins is always a success!

Only Ellie could ride some of the rides because of height...
so the littles looked on patiently!

A good daddy...
(however, he and David did get his share of "big boy" rides in too!)

So big riding the hot air balloon and getting to sit in a seat all
by herself!

We are getting asked more and more if they are triplets...
of course I really don't see why considering their sizes,
but they are definitely all catching up to each other!
