Adjusments

Well, we had to adjust Ellie's car seat straps. She was getting too long to fit in them. She's just growing up so fast. And she's taking after her mom already as seen in the picture below. She's already lobbying for her own cell phone to talk to the grandparents. We told her that 8 weeks was a little young, but we'd talk again around 8 months. She is talking away though, with so much to say and so very few words or sounds to use. She's is full of expressions however.

Ellie loves being a Cousin!

Caroline and Ellie getting to know each other! John David loves Baby Ellie! Can't you tell? Just the girls!
These are my (Joy) sister Allison's three kids. Ellie can't wait to spend more time with her cousins! In the meantime, they'll have to keep up with each other from 2,000 miles away. They are faithful blog readers! We love you all!!

Bottle Woes

Three weeks in and I fed Ellie her first bottle. She slurped it down like Joy would a Big Gulp of Dr. Pepper in college (some of you remember). Anyway, a week ago she decided that it was no longer enjoyable to drink from a bottle and gets pretty upset when we give it to her. Other times she just plays with and bites the nipple, but no significant drinking. But speaking of biting, look at this clip online. It won't be long till Ellie has teeth like little Charlie so watch out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBlgSz8sSM Well, after you quit laughing, say a little prayer as we train Ellie to refind her joy of drinking from a bottle.

A New Groove

Wow! We're back from Texas celebrating the birth of Jesus and the birth of Ellie with family and friends. We had a wonderful time getting to see so many of those we love. When we got back to Boston I was only here for 3 days before going on a two day planning retreat to prepare for this semester before all the students get back into town. We followed that time up with our annual SLT (Senior Leadership Team) Retreat. We were able to use bonus time at the McDowell's time share in western Mass. It has been a wonderful getaway place for both Joy and me. And NOW...we are home! Normal everyday life with a baby is now underway and we're really enjoying it and her. Unfortunately I've been quarantined from Ellie the last 3 days because of a sinus infection. But, I'm feeling much better and have been released from quarantine. Here are a few pictures from our travels, retreat, and just of Ellie getting older. She is now over 6 weeks old and weighs just over 9 pounds.
