Easter Weekend!

This was a BIG weekend around here!
Our kids LOVE LOVE Easter, plus Travis' parents were in town to help
celebrate Ellie's baptism.

Jackie came ready with lots and lots of fun ideas to do with the kids so
we were busy!  I didn't catch all of them on camera but if you follow
Jackie on pinterest you can see all of her great ideas for kids!

On Friday we had lunch outside...but the kids had to go "collect" theirs
in the yard.  Their lunch was hidden in Easter eggs all over the yard!
We gave each girl a certain part of the yard to collect their eggs from so
as to avoid overlap...and then they grabbed their egg carton and went for it!

Nothing super fancy in the eggs...turkey, cheese, goldfish, craisins, popcorn,
etc...but the fact that they got to eat each egg and discover their lunch was
super fun for them!

Then the rest of the afternoon the kids were very hard at work but it was all very
secretive...they were preparing a shower for baby brother with Jackie and Randy's help!

They got to make, arrange, hang decorations.  Make treats.  And even "shop" out of Mimi's
suitcase for presents for the baby!  This was especially fun for them they are VERY familiar
with showers...what goes into them, why we have them, etc.  They are always involved in
helping me with showers that we throw here so for them to get to throw their own for
Mommy and Daddy was really special I think!

Here was the final product!

The sweet pictures they colored for baby brother!

Emmy maybe mainly helped with the "eating" side of things!

Had to get a pic of her piggies and her sweet little cheeks!

Our soon to be family of 6!

We opened presents, ate yummy treats, and rejoiced at this new little life!

And one with the brains behind the whole thing!

These were the little cars that the girls made for baby brother that
doubled as decoration!

So sweet--something I'll never forget.
Thank you, Jackie for making this happen!

After the shower we hurried off to our annual Good Friday service
with our church where we climbed "A" mountain together.
Travis  always has everyone carry a stone up the mountain as a representation
of our sin...
then after we pray and worship and read the about what Jesus did for us all
on that night, we (carefully) throw our rock down the mountain to signify that our sin
is no longer something we have to carry around, it has been paid for.

We had a great turn out...over 100 people (kids too!) climbed the mountain.
Don't know if we can do this forever because of our size but it was so
significant for us...one of my favorite things we do as a church...
I love the creativity of my husband and our staff!

The next afternoon (after two soccer games!) we had a little
Easter egg hunt at the park around the corner from our house with
 a few families.

Fun times with friends, yummy food, and eggs!

We had a great two days...and the best was yet to come!
Easter Sunday morning!
