Spring Break Mission Trip L.A.--Part 2

After a day with our family, we jumped back into life with the students...
which included some time at the beach...cold beach! :)

Poor Emmy...she's not really sleeping here but with some coaxing
she probably would have...
she was short on sleep this trip so she had to grab it when she could.
For sure a trooper though, so thankful for her flexibility!

 On Santa Monica Pier,
right next to where we hung out at the beach.

After beach day was Hollywood day!
I had never been to L.A. and for sure not to
Hollywood so this was quite the experience...
we did a lot of prayer walking and sharing with people
about the love of Jesus.

Here's Trav envisioning the team for our time there.
To wait on God for words or pictures of who to share with
and to pray--to call down heaven over this place.
The students really went for it and carried so much faith for there
to be change in this area of our country.

Prayer walking...or riding, if you were our kids!

There was a cool story here...so there was a spot to sit around
Mickey and take a pic with him.  We did it and then lots of other
kids and families were waiting to as well.  But as we walked away,
Ellie said, "Daddy, do you know what verse I'm thinking of that I
learned at school??  And then she quoted...Let the little children come to me,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to these."
Trav and I both thought it was a prophetic picture of how He wants His children
to run to HIM and nothing else, not even Mickey Mouse."
Thankful for this moment in her little heart...felt like she was "in it" with us
as we prayed and believed God for this city.

Little Gracie.  Love love love her.

Movie star Gracie!

Then sadly, it was time to say good bye to the Nances.
We had had so much fun with them it was sad to see them go...
we decided to take one last pic, but as you can see, a few people
to decided to join us, uninvited!  We were all dying laughing,
this has happened to us a lot overseas but never in America.  They never
ask they just jump in your picture as if that was what you asked them to do...
so funny.

Bye to Caroline.

Bye to Claire.

Oh these two.
They love each other.

And they LOVE their Uncle David...
not only does he outfit them with cute clothes (through his
wife the shopper) but he also gives free rides whenever the girls ask!

And we ended our time with a worship night on campus that ended up being
really fun and really powerful for people I think!

Hanging with the students during set up.

Ellie and Sara.  We love you Sara!

Jammin with the big kids!

This is what I will remember about this trip...students getting filled up by
God day after day, worshipping Him with all their hearts,
and then going out into the streets and sharing the love of Jesus that
had radically touched and changed them.

I will of course also remember that my sister and her family were there,
that my 13 year old niece couldn't get enough of all that was going on...
so willing to jump into all of what we were doing.
That I shared a room with Jenny...a freshman at ASU who I disciple,
but also with my two year old, and then eventually my three year old too
who wanted to be in the room with me.
Oh, and how I was pregnant with number 4 and hanging out
with college students.
I know I don't blend in anymore but I still love them and believe
they will change the world!

Yay for Spring Break 2013!
