We did so much driving this summer...
I'm fine if we don't take another car trip for a very long time!
On our way back from Waco Trav flew into Dallas to drive with us...
Praise the Lord.
Don't know if I could have made it by myself!
This, unfortunately was a very rare sight for me to turn around and see...
this one was not a very happy traveler most of the time. :(
We drove to Amarillo and spent the night, but my sister and her family weren't there.
We were greeted by Sally instead!
Then the kids were so cute going to all their favorite stuff in
the Nances' house!
(poor things were so confused as to where their cousins were)
And then of course, sleeping in their beds! My little Goldilocks kids!
After everyone was in bed Trav went out and got our Amarillo favorites...
Toot 'n Totum (somehow Am has the best fountain drinks in the nation...and
I would know!), Ruby's Mexican food and then the next morning,
the Donut Stop!
The next day was long, very very long.
This was our lunch stop in Albuquerque.
Happy faces because they aren't in the car!
We finally pulled into our driveway at 10:30pm Texas time where a fun surprise awaited us!
We had asked Kristen to set up a new slip 'n slide that Trav had bought them while we
were gone, as well as the baby pool.
So we left everything in the car, had them run get their swimsuits on, and then
run to the backyard.
And for over an hour they ran around and played in the water.
So much fun!!
And they so deserved it after all the traveling!

One of my favorite memories of the summer for sure.
(not the drive, the fun afterwards!)
And then they totally conked out in their own beds...
a great way to get kids adjusted to a two hour time difference,
keep them up playing on a new slip n slide!
June was a blast but we were glad to be home...at least for a few days!
