My Husband the Triathlete...

On Friday night we had some friends over for dinner.  By the end of the night, Travis had been convinced to do a triathlon the following Sunday morning.  Sounds crazy, but not that atypical for Trav.

He's wanted to do a triathlon for a long time but wasn't currently training for one (outside of the running part, I guess).  Good thing he's a stellar athlete.  He did awesome.  We were so proud!

Sadly, the girls and I didn't get to see him.  It started at 6:30am and he left the house before 5.

BUT--E got to go with him the night before and help him get signed up and ready.  The girls were super excited about it.  They were great about helping show him how to use all the gear.

And just fyi, they did go down the street and around the corner where our mailboxes are to check the mail...just like this.  Hilarious.

So while Daddy was competing the girls were sleeping and Mommy was praying. (the swimming part makes me nervous...in a lake, lots of leg and arm flailing about).  Then the girls got up and we got ready to cheer him on as soon as he walked through the door!

And then he did.  We were so excited.  He did the whole thing in less than an hour and half with really no training.  We were impressed.  Can't wait for him to do one where we can watch!

Love how SG is looking at Trav here (she's wearing his medal).
I love that he's leading our family and leading out in the planting of this church--no challenge intimidates him.  So thankful he's the brave, adventurous type!
