A Big Weekend!

Our girls are back (thanks again Mimi and Poppy--they had a blast last week), Travis' brother, Bret, is engaged, the Phillips/Ogden kids play again, Claire came to town, and the Rangers won a close one!!

It's been a fun, crazy weekend.  Life with three kids again.  But we're so glad they're back!

We (the kids and I) loaded up and headed to Dallas on Saturday afternoon (Travis stayed behind to help Bret pull off the engagement which was happening in Waco).  Then he met us at the party.  It was an engagement extravaganza from start to finish.  Complete with airplane rides, taxi rides (taxi being Travis), and a surprise party that may have been mistaken for a wedding reception itself!

I have one picture from the whole event (though I did wear my camera around all night!).  The happy couple arrived around 8:45 to kick off the party...so, picture me with three kids at a party late at night.  I'm learning each of my kids responds differently (at least at this stage) to being tired.
Ellie:  gets really crazy hyper and silly and is impossible to contain
Sarah Grace:  gets cranky...usually involves frequent screaming
Emily:  hangs tight for the first hour or even two, and then eventually loses it

So about 9:45 we headed for the door...which is where this pic was taken...right by the door!

Bret worked really hard and did a great job of planning the whole event!  Congrats, Bret and Abby!  We love you!  So glad we all got to be a part!

We spent the night with the Ogdens (we've gotten so much time with them lately and it has been life to my soul...but more on that later).  And I love that all day Ellie couldn't wait to get to "Jayden's house".  They play really well together (well, as good as any two first born, strong willed children can!)

Watching their Jesus time together Sunday morning.

I love this one!  The big kids in their jammies and the little ones (well, middle ones) in their diaps.  Can't remember why neither of them had clothes on.

Then after church we went out to eat...four adults, six kids.  Wow.

Gracie was trying really hard to get her sisters to cooperate!

I was lucky to get this one...he was really ready to go.  Don't know how I caught active little J in a moment...but I did!

Yes, that is Travis holding Em in the picture...look how long she is!  She may catch SG soon!

Friends.

Gracie saying good-bye to Duncan.

Gracie saying good-bye to Jayden.  (Jayden being a good sport!)

We loved our time with you again Ogdens!
Christy has cute pics of the weekend posted too.

And as if we hadn't had enough for one weekend...we headed to the Rangers game to meet my parents and my niece, Claire (who had just gotten in to spend the week with us and help with the girls during swimming).

Wonder where she gets her love for ice cream??? (see mommy in background)

My brother Scott.
My Daddy has loved baseball all his life.  He taught me all about the game.  When I was younger, he had me memorize the Rangers batting order and pitching rotation!  (I think I remember him teaching me while I helped him organize his baseball cards.)  The Rangers and baseball will forever remind me of growing up.  Red Sox (and D-backs), I love you...unless you play the Rangers! :)

Ellie loves it too...mostly because it's a "game" and because she gets to wear her hat!

Yay, Claire is here!  Can't wait to spend the week with you! (CJ and JD, we'll miss you!)

Go Rangers (they won in the bottom of the ninth).

Whew!  Fun weekend!
