Showers of Blessing...for Lauren

I'm about 5 months behind on my blog posts and one day I'll catch up, but for now,
I'm moving forward!

This weekend we had another baby shower at our house.  God has been blessing
our church with lots of new babies here in the last few months and so we
have been doing a lot of celebrating!

I personally LOVE celebrating a new mom and her new little bambino.
I feel like it's so significant to rejoice with them, come around them, and
believe with them for all that God has for their new season
and for the little life within them.

It has been a joy to get to host and help host so many of these celebrations!

We had 5 showers in a span of a couple of months last fall and I'm not a super
creative person so I was running out of ideas fast (even WITH help from Pinterest).
So I started asking the Lord for help,
for a theme or a word with which to build the shower around.
It's been so sweet to see what He has spoken and what he has done.

This last weekend we had a shower for our friend Lauren.
She's having Caleb Clayton at the beginning of March...
I felt like the word for her was to "Shower her with Blessing"
And so we did!

We had a tree with raindrops where guests wrote blessings
(words or scriptures for Lauren, Carlos and baby).

And then Emily made the cutest canvas with an elephant and more water droplets
and on these she wrote down words that Lauren and Carlos have gotten from the
Lord about baby Caleb...we took time during the shower to read them out,
claim them, pray them, and believe them for his life.

So cute!

It was a sweet time.  Lauren is one who goes deep in God.  She will
be an unbelievable mommy to this little boy...fun to pray and speak
this over her!

Here are a few other pics from the shower!

Emily's cupcakes of course! :)

Here was our menu:
yogurt parfaits
chicken salad with grapes, apples, celery, etc (YUM!)...and croissants
lemon poppyseed bread
sugar cookie fruit cups
cucumber cups with hummus and carrot sticks
Pioneer Woman's cinnamon french toast casserole
 ham and cheese pretzel bites
fruit platter
blueberry muffins
vanilla cupcakes with vanilla bean frosting

Pics of Lauren and Carlos...
and pics of Lauren's cute growing belly!
(and those are "showers" falling from the ceiling!)

"Tiffany Punch"...very blue and very sweet!

My girls aren't usually at the showers but Daddy had "Antioch Atheltics"...
(aka football) on Saturday so they were all with me! :)

I am so thankful for all the help I have with these showers!
There's often at least one late night and one early morning involved every time,
but it's always worth it!

So many sweet memories...
and baby Caleb, we can't wait to meet you!
