We have now taken two "family vacations" since we moved here...
one to Scottsdale, and the other,
to Scottsdale!
It's only about 20-25 minutes away but we don't really care--as long as we are
1) away
2) together.
The kids LOVE it...and Trav is always the best at coming up with fun things to do
that the kids love and that make them feel so valuable and so part of family.
This time around it was a little harder to me to bite the bullet and go because I was
so close to my due date and felt like I had a thousand things to do...
because I did/do have a thousand things to do!!
But at the end of the day I had to decide that time with my family was going to be way more
valuable than a laundry room that was better organized and a finished baby room.
Good choice on my part...it was worth every minute of being together!
It was like a baby moon for our family...after all the traveling we've done
it was much needed family time!
We arrived at our condo/resort late Tuesday night after lifegroup
and after a breakfast of pancakes the next morning by daddy they hit the tennis courts!
(I had to stay behind and finish an online defensive driving course...yuck!)
The cool was one of the best I have ever seen.
It was huge, first of all, but one end had an area where even Emmy could stand up for
a good little ways, and then another end was a beach!
So fun!
Then after a morning of tennis and swimming we had hot dogs on the
grill by the pool.
Then it was off to a short rest and then we loaded up for a trip to
"Big Surf" water park...where they have this great deal if you go there
from 2:00-6:00.
The kids had a blast!
Life jackets for the wave pool...always a favorite.
The first time for the girls to go down the slide by themselves.
Emmy's first time to go down...with Daddy!
She LOVED it!
She LOVED it!
Then after a dinner of Mexican food we headed home!
These AZ babies were FREEZING in the restaurant and had to
put their hoodies up!
Day two involved more swimming in the morning,
then a trip to the Scottsdale Quarter where we had lunch (at TruFood...YUMMY)
and then shopped for baby brother a little bit.
and then shopped for baby brother a little bit.
After lunch and shopping it was time for the spa!
Emmy was resting but Trav helped me set up a really
fun little surprise for the other two girls!
We did foot mande's, massages, buffing, filing, painting...
the works!
All in blue for baby brother!
Daddy was my assistant and he brought out chocolate,
fruit, and various beverages!
Ticklish much??
Nails were of course included in this spa package!
We then did a little more swimming, made quick quesadillas
and headed to putt putt and go karts!
Here was SG's first ever hole-in-one!
Then we had an ice cream treat and went to bed!
The kids got up and all swam one more time the next morning with Trav
while I went in for dr's appt...
vacation was over,
but memories were made and our family was closer.
So thankful for a husband who leads our family into what is best
and just not what seems urgent!
So much fun! Love our family and any time we get to have together!
