I was organizing some pics on my computer from the past two months
and realized that I totally forgot to post about our kids first night in their
new beds!
Our first night in our new house was their first night different beds...
all three of them!
We did a major switcheroo!
Ellie--from bottom bunk to top bunk
Sarah Grace--crib to bottom bunk
Emmy--packnplay to crib!
We'll just say that because of our move/transition to AZ...
we did things a little differently this time around.
for example: SG staying in the crib until 2 1/2
(E moved out of the crib when she was 20 months old!)
And Emmy staying in the packnplay for way too long!
In the new house they are all in the same room (in the old house, baby E was in our
(big!) closet and the big girls were together).
We decided to just go for it on the first night...
everyone was exhausted so we figured it was a good night to try it.
We gave them BIG pep talks...
Here is SG getting hers.
She was super excited to sleep in what was "Ellie's bed".
She'd been asking for a while!
And E's been telling everyone how she was going to be
the big girl on the top bunk!
After we layed out our expectations of them,
they said good night to each other...
and we took one more pic before we turned out the lights!
There's Emmy in the crib for the first time...
just 15 months later than most babies!
Oh the third child!
They ended up doing fabulous.
Even Emmy, who I think thought she was so big to get to sleep with her sisters.
Now she protests big time if she is put down without them.
It's really crazy how they sleep through each other if one cries in the night,
or even if one wakes up earlier than the other.
It's been a HUGE blessing.
Because having three kids between the ages of
4 and 1 in the same room could easily be chaos.
And let's be honest--sometimes when we're getting them all down,
it is...chaos! But that would be the case even if they all had their own room.
In this season I have been so thankful for how God so divinely plans out our family.
We are loving how close our girls are becoming.
He really is so perfect in His plan.
It is always best.
Here were a few pics from the next morning
(didn't hear a peep from them til a few minutes before 8...I was so proud of them!)
It's been a month and a half now since they've all been together and it continues to go great.
If you're wondering if it's possible to throw all your kids together in one room...
let me encourage you that it is!!
**side note: They DO NOT nap in the same room.
Gracie naps/rests in the girls room. (at this point she usually reads until she falls asleep)
Ellie rests in Kiki's room. (who lives with us)
And Emmy...
well, she's back in a packnplay in my bathroom.
(which means, yes, I do set up and take down a packnplay every single day...
I can do it crazy fast!)
Making the best of what we have!
Never a dull moment!
